| The guidelines and use restrictions are unique for the Bigfork
Community Nordic Center located at the intersection of Foothill
and Jewel Basin Road. These restrictions are enforced during our
lease of the site from December 1st to March 15th. In summary,
the following rules apply during the lease period:
- A State
Lands Recreational Use Permit is required;
- Please, no snow machines, ATVs or vehicles on groomed trails;
- No dogs;
- No walking on trails without snowshoes;

DOGS: We understand that you enjoy skiing with your dog
- we love our dogs too ,
however, it is a firm NSNC policy that dogs are not allowed on
the trails. There are two basic reasons for this policy:
- Dogs can do substantial damage to groomed and ungroomed trails.
One dog can punch holes in tracks and skating lanes and make
skiing difficult or dangerous for other skiers.
- There are other skiers who may not be happy to suddenly
come across your dog while they are skiing. Even if you feel
that your dog is well-behaved, other skiers do not know this.
This is an issue of common courtesy and safety.
Even if the trails are ungroomed, do not think that skiing
with your dog is okay. There are no exceptions to this rule. If
you are found on the trails with your dog, you will be asked to
leave. You're welcome to come back, but without your dog. These
are community ski centers, and as such, it requires cooperation
on the part of all its users to make the experience
of skiing pleasant and fun. Please be considerate of your fellow
skiers. Your observance of this policy is appreciated.
General recreational use of lands off the trails is permitted
in accordance with State Land Recreation Use Laws; Equipment and
grooming funded by donations from the community - your
compliance with these requirements is appreciated! Please
contact us, or call Montana DNRC at (406) 751-2274 with any
questions you may have.
MONTANA STATE TRUST LAND USE REQUIREMENTS: The land upon
which the BCNC resides (at the Foothill Road/Jewel Basin site)

every user of the BCNC must have a valid Montana Recreational

requirements listed below are part of BCNC's operating policy to
assure safe and high quality conditions are always available.
